ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director and Director, the Support Specialist’s responsibilities are to:

  • Develop effective, trusting relationships with clients using a client-centered approach.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with management, peers, collaborators, and clients.
  • Provide support and assistance to clients as needed.
  • Maintain client confidentiality at all times and ensure to follow agency, state and HIPPA laws.
  • To provide crisis intervention services when needed.
  • To assist in the coordination of evening programs and classes.
  • To participate in kitchen duty as assigned.
  • To participate in self and program evaluation to better respond to client/community needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of issues faced by the population served.
  • Committed to improving the community through empowerment and dignity.
  • Knowledge of Word Document, and Able to use Emails.

Work Environment

  • Combination of either field and/or office environment depending on position
  • On occasion walk or drive to different agency sites
  • May/Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments depending on position
  • May/Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor depending on position
  • May need to bend, stoop, twist and sit throughout the day
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 lbs.
