POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Patrols buildings on a routine schedule to prevent and detect signs of intrusion.
• Ensures all entry points into buildings are secured and locked.
• Responds to alarms and investigates disturbances.
• Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Calls police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Circulates among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect company property.
• Answers incoming phone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed.
• Warns persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehends or evicts violators from premises.
• Inspects and adjusts security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.
• Calls appropriate tradesperson in accordance with established procedures for work that requires prompt attention.
• Assists with miscellaneous tasks as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous security guard experience a plus.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in written form.
• Must be reliable, dependable, and flexible.
• Will also participate in a Bonus pay program along with hourly pay.

Essential Functions:

• Primarily requires the individual to be mobile, bend, reach, and walk.
• Works individually and as part of a team, requiring punctuality and attendance.
• Requires ability to stand frequently, in combination with walking while performing duties, walking is usually performed throughout shift on tile, carpet or concrete.
• Requires ability to use a keyboard, reach for items and pull drawers.
• Requires ability to occasionally climb stairs at some locations.
